How is Physical Therapy at Pinnacle Performance different?
-
With changes in healthcare it has become exceedingly difficult for healthcare professionals to have the necessary time to spend with their patients and clients to provide high quality healthcare.
-
As physical therapists we are trained to thoroughly evaluate movement and limitations in movement, whether they are caused from musculoskeletal (muscles, bones & joints), neurological (brain and nervous system), cardiovascular & pulmonary (heart & lung) or integumentary (skin) impairments.
-
At Pinnacle Performance the physical therapy that you receive will be provided only by licensed physical therapists--in other words, your entire visit will be spent with the experts in the restoration or prevention of movement dysfunction.
-
In order for our therapists to provide you with this one on one expertise, we have developed a fee for service billing system that requires your payment at the time of service. We will then provide our customers with appropriate billing documentation that they can submit to their insurance carriers.

"When the foot hits the ground, everything changes." Your foot is the body's link from the ground to the rest of the lower extremity and back. Sometimes orthopedic injuries or pain can be caused by faulty mechanics of the foot. Pinnacle Performance therapists can provide you with a thorough biomechanical assessment of your lower extremity and foot and design/fabricate appropriate custom shoe orthotics to address plantar fasciitis, ankle pain, knee pain, back pain, etc.
Do I need a physician referral for rehabilitation services?
Not necessarily. However, we work closely with our clients and their physicians in rehabilitation, post-rehabilitation, and fitness environment. In the state of Utah our licensed professional staff has "direct access," which means that you have the freedom to be evaluated by a provider who specializes in musculoskeletal evaluation and conservative intervention when you have back pain, sprain your ankle, or injure your shoulder. Our therapists will evaluate you and do one of three things: 1) evaluate and treat if appropriate; 2) evaluate and treat and refer for additional assessment only if necessary; 3) evaluate and refer immediately if you need services that lie outside of our scope of practice. A physical therapist's scope of practice includes assessment of aerobic capacity, neurological integrity, musculoskeletal integrity, cardiovascular exercise prescription, manual therapy & joint mobilization of the spine and extremity joints, strength training, orthoses prescription/fabrication, pain relieving modalities, and client education. Our therapists work closely with several physicians in the Salt Lake City area and just as they refer their patients to us, we also will refer our clients to the appropriate physicians when an injury or disease process is not stable and further medical evaluation is indicated.
Will insurance pay for these services?
Often times insurance will reimburse for rehabilitation services. All services (fitness/post-rehab/ and rehab) rendered at Pinnacle Performance are out of pocket (we accept cash, local checks, Visa and MasterCard). Our staff will provide an invoice for appropriate services that the client can then submit to their insurance company for reimbursement. The reason for this business structure is that our therapists then have the freedom to spend as much time as necessary with each individual client to optimize their rehabilitation or post-rehabilitation process. We do not have to increase our billing prices in hopes of being reimbursed for our services, and so we benefit from having the freedom to practice as we are licensed to do so. The client benefits from getting the full scope of the professionals' skill and service.
