YOGA
"Yoga provides the means to bring out the best in each individual. This requires understanding a persons present condition or starting point, his or her potential, goals, and the means available. Since each person is different, the means will vary with each individual. The word viniyoga suggests the ability to recognize these differences and to adapt the proper methods to each individual."
An ancient system of integrating body, mind and spirit. Yoga stretches (Asanas) That lead the practitioner to feel energized and relaxed, while encouraging flexibility, strengthening the body and toning the muscles. Yoga is also a wonderful means of alleviating tension, enabling one to regain mental balance with a sense of clarity and well-being.
Why do people find peace, relaxation, greater energy and inner power doing Yoga at Pinnacle Performance?
There are two main reasons: One reason is our unique methods of teaching and the second is the background and experience of our teachers. Pinnacle Performance offers Hatha Yoga and Viniyoga from instructors with more than 20 years of experience. We have a number of regular and special rotating yoga classes. Our classes are small so that the art can be practiced as "your yoga" in a small group setting.

MASSAGE
Massage,
bodywork and somatic therapies are defined as the application of various
techniques to the muscular structure and soft tissues of the human body.
The application of massage, bodywork and somatic therapy techniques may
include stroking, kneading, tapping, compression, vibration, rocking,
friction, pressure, and those techniques based on manipulation or the
application of pressure to the muscular structure or soft tissues of the
human body. This may also include non-forceful passive or active movement
and/or application of techniques intended to affect the energetic systems
of the body. The use of oils, lotions, powders or other lubricants may
also be included. Massage, bodywork and somatic therapies specifically
exclude diagnosis, prescription, manipulation or adjustments of the human
skeletal structure, or any other service, procedure or therapy which requires
a license to practice orthopedics, physical therapy, podiatry, chiropractic,
osteopathy, psychotherapy, acupuncture, or any other profession or branch
of medicine.
Description of Massage Techniques
Swedish Massage is one of the most commonly taught and well-known massage techniques, Swedish massage is a vigorous system of treatment designed to energize the body by stimulating circulation. Five basic strokes, all flowing toward the heart, are used to manipulate the soft tissues of the body. The disrobed client is covered by a sheet, with only the area being worked on exposed. Therapists use a combination of kneading, rolling, vibrational, percussive and tapping movements with the application of oil to reduce friction on the skin. The many benefits of Swedish massage may include generalized relaxation, dissolution of scar tissue adhesions, and improved circulation, which may speed healing and reduce swelling from injury.
Reiki (RAY-KEE) is based on the principle of Universal Life Energy or Chi, Reiki is believed to date back to early Tibetan healing practices. Discovered in the 1800's by a Japanese philosopher and Christian seminary educator, Dr. Mikao Usui, Reiki was brought to the United States in the mid-1900s. As an energy healing technique, Reiki involves hands-on touch and visualization applied to the entire body, serving to align chakras and bring healing energy to organs and glands. The practitioner, trained to access and serve as a channel for the life energy, uses a passive touch which some clients experience with a warmth or tingling.
Seated Massage techniques provide fully-clothed seated massage, bodywork and somatic therapies to clients, generally in a corporate or business setting. Practitioners utilize Shiatsu, Amma, and/or Swedish techniques.
Neuromuscular Therapy is a comprehensive program of soft-tissue manipulation balances the body's central nervous system with the musculoskeletal system. Based on neurological laws which explain how the central nervous system initiates and maintains pain, the goal is to help relieve the pain and dysfunction by understanding and alleviating the underlying cause. Neuromuscular therapy can help individuals who experience distortion and biomechanical dysfunction, which is often a symptom of a deeper problem. It is also used to locate and release spasms and hypercontraction in the tissue, eliminate trigger points that cause referred pain, restore postural alignment, proper biomechanics and flexibility to the tissues, rebuild the strength of injured tissues, and assist venous and lymphiatic flow.
